Aquatics Facilities
The Rockford Park District operates and programs the following aquatic facilities for the benefit of citizens of all ages to enjoy and access. Concessions are available at all aquatic facilities.
Alpine Pool This location has an "L" shaped pool ranging from 3 feet to 12 feet deep, a diving well with two drop slides and a one meter diving board, and a wading pool.
James Lesley Harkins III Aquatic Center The newly renovated Harkins Aquatic Center features a leisure pool with zero depth entry, open swim and lap lanes, and a maximum depth of four feet; a water slide and children's spray pool with lots of shade structures and concessions available. Free "Learn to Swim" classes are offered for RPD residents at this location and there is no admission charged.
Sand Park Aquatic Facility
Sand Park Pool has a family aquatic attraction - Penguin Pond with a water slide specially designed for young children and a wading pool. This pool is "L" shaped ranging from 3 feet to 12 feet deep and has a diving well with two drop slides and a one meter diving board.
